2011 BMW Frozen Black Edition M3 Coupe sold out in just 22 minutes

The BMW stealth fighter, dubbed as the Frozen Black M3 Edition, was put on sale just days ago but already, it has sold out. BMW Blog said that the entire 20-unit run was sold in only 22 minutes. This is a stunning achievement since this edition is priced about $21,000 higher than the regular M3 Coupe. The 2011 BMW Frozen Black M3 Coupe costs $79,650 (excluding a $875 destination charge). Actually, one of the 20 units will be kept by BMW of North America but may be sold at a later date.

On the other hand, the 19 units will be delivered this month. Each unit features a 4.0-liter, 414hp M V8 engine that’s equipped with BMW’s M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT). As a result, the car will be able to accelerate from a standstill to 60mph in 4.5 seconds, faster than the regular M3’s acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

The cars will be given an extraordinary BMW Individual matte paintwork and a unique metallic luster. BMW achieved this effect by applying a silk matte clear coat (which BMW developed) over the Black Metallic base coat. Other highlights in this car include a set of 19-inch GTS wheels that are finished in gloss black. The kidney grilles, fender vents and exhaust tips are in this paint color as well. At night and when the lights are turned off, this car will be virtually invisible. For this package, BMW is adding red-colored brake calipers, carbon fiber accents, and black leather interior that has contrasting red stitching. In addition, its suspension was lowered by 10 mm.
