Chevrolet has revealed the Chevrolet Concept Rally Colorado at the Buenos Aires motorshow, a strong hint of the company's future production pick-up.
Under the bonnet of the concept is an “efficient 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine that delivers excellent torque for this rally car,” Chevy says.
As well as 4WD, it gets 18-inch alloys, LED spotlights, 140mm performance shock absorbers and a suspension set-up, which can be raised and lowered by 50mm. At the front, a bumper-integrated winch offers 4000kg of pulling power through 23 metres of reinforced steel cables.
Special features include acrylic windows for “greater protection from side impacts,” a perforated back cover for to save weight and a roll bar.
Inside, the top of the dashboard is covered in “textured leather" which is "adapted to incorporate the tools in the race car,” and the sports steering wheel incorporates LED lights, which indicate when to change gear. It also gets “shell” type sports seats and aluminium floor mats.
GM Global Vehicle Executive Brad Merkel said, “The Concept Rally Colorado is looking to the future of the global Chevrolet pickups. With this concept, the brand demonstrates its leadership in building vehicles with great design and capacity." [via - autocar]
