2012 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 makes its debut

Aston Martin has officially revealed the details for the V12 Vantage GT3 car, its replacement for the DBRS9. It will come with the latest in race-car technology and will have an output of 600hp. The dry-sumped 6.0 litre V12 engine will produce 600 bhp (significantly more than the 510 hp of the stock engine) with 700 Nm of torque. Its position has been revised further from the street car to improve weight balance.

The V12 Vantage already has an impressive appearance but with the new aerodynamics, it appears more muscular and purposeful. The V12 Vantage’s wheelbase is shorter and its engine position is lower compared to the DBRS9. This improves the handling and its performance. Its driveability is also improved. Offered as standard on the V12 Vantage GT3 are the latest race-developed ABS and Traction Control systems.

The Vantage GT3 is qualified to join several races throughout the world such as the FIA GT3 Championship, ADAC Masters, Nürburgring VLN, Blancpain Endurance Series, British GT, Belcar and Open GT. The new car will begin testing in October. The Vantage GT3 will be subjected to a comprehensive sign-off durability test. Aston Martin will start deliveries for this model in early 2012. It has a starting price of £298,000.[via : 4wheelsnews]
