If you’re looking to rent a car in San Francisco, you may want to approach Hertz for an electric vehicle. The leading car-rental company has recently announced that electric vehicles have been added to its fleet in San Francisco. Members of the Hertz On Demand program can select from the Nissan Leaf, the Smart EV or the Mitsubishi "i".
The rentals are linked to the 24-hour member care center, where drivers have access to information on charging stations, alternate drop-off points or roadside assistance, according to AutoWeek.
On Hertz’s Web site, there’s a frequently-asked-questions page to help relieve "range anxiety" and to assist first-time EV customers in navigating their new rentals. Drivers have to return the gasoline-powered rentals with a full tank but EVs don’t have to be fully charged when they’re given back.[via - 4wheelnews]
